Day 1: Momella Gate to Miriakamba Hut

Start early in the morning at Momella Gate, the main entrance to Arusha National Park. Register at the gate and begin the hike through the lush montane forest. Trek for approximately 4-6 hours, covering around 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) to reach Miriakamba Hut, situated at an elevation of about 2,514 meters (8,250 feet). Rest, have dinner, and spend the night at Miriakamba Hut.

Day 2: Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut

Begin the day with breakfast at Miriakamba Hut. Continue the ascent, passing through heathland and moorland vegetation. Reach Saddle Hut, located at an elevation of around 3,570 meters (11,712 feet). The trek takes approximately 3-5 hours, covering a distance of about 8 kilometers (5 miles). Rest, have dinner, and spend the night at Saddle Hut.

Day 3: Summit attempt and descent to Momella Gate

Wake up very early, around midnight, to start the summit attempt. Begin the steep climb to the summit of Mount Meru, known as Socialist Peak, at an elevation of 4,562 meters (14,968 feet). Trek for approximately 4-6 hours to reach the summit, timing may vary depending on your pace and weather conditions. Witness the breathtaking sunrise from the summit, enjoy the panoramic views, and take memorable photos. Descend back to Saddle Hut, where you'll have breakfast and rest before continuing the descent. Descend further to Miriakamba Hut, where you'll have lunch and take a break. Finally, descend to Momella Gate, where your Mount Meru hike will conclude.
